Christopher Ray Holmes, Sr.

September 27, 1959 — March 6, 2017

Christopher Ray Holmes, Sr., 57, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017. He worked for the New Albany Housing Authority and was a member at both Unfinished Church and Pleasant View Baptist Church. Chris was an avid fan of the Louisville Cardinals, enjoyed working out in the yard, and most of all loved his family, especially his granddaughters.

He was born on September 27, 1959, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Wade and Mary (Griffin) Holmes. Chris was also proceeded in death by his daughter, Ellissa Holmes; and brothers, Gary and Steven Holmes.

Chris is survived by his life-partner, Melissa Holmes; children, Christopher Holmes, Jr. (Tiffany Bellou) and Kayla Enlow; brother, Larry Holmes (Carol); granddaughters, Alyssa and Isabella; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen following Chris' wishes. A reception of family and friends will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Pleasant View Baptist Church (19616 Indiana 62, Marysville, Indiana 47141) with a memorial service taking place at 4:00 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (1640 Lyndon Farm Court, Suite 104, Louisville, Kentucky 40223).
