Christenia Marie (Snyder) Herthel

Christenia Marie "Tenia" (Snyder) Herthel, 59, wonderful wife, mother, and momma of Greenville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. She enjoyed visiting the casino, as well as collecting oil lamps and Coca-Cola memorabilia. It could be said that Tenia had a green thumb and could also be described as crafty.

She was born on April 2, 1959, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Roy M. and Mabel (Cole) Snyder. Tenia was also preceded in death by her brothers, Roy, Bobby, and Eric.

Tenia is survived by her husband of 38 years, Alan Herthel; daughters, April Dexter (Charles), Shannon Nichols (Josh), Crystal Sheets (Kurt), and Cara Herthel (fiancé, Corey Hubert); sisters, Theresa Sparrow (Albert), Debbie Gee, and LeeAnn Snelling; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with cremation to follow according to Tenia's wishes. She will be laid to rest at a later date at Edwardsville Cemetery.

Contributions in Tenia's memory may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
