Christen Todd Morgan

Christen Todd Morgan, 61, of Louisville, KY passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 9, 2024 at his home. He was born January 16, 1963 in Louisville and is preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Mary Morgan; sisters Deborah Stettenbenz and Marguerite “Peggy” Morgan; and brother Paul “Larry” Morgan.

Todd attended Atherton High School and graduated from Walden High School in 1981. He went on to study music and theater at Syracuse University in New York. Todd was a very talented musician mastering the fiddle, the guitar and the mandolin, among an array of many other stringed instruments. His passion for music led to his involvement in the bands, Skip Jack, Grandma’s Basement and Ten Penny Bit, where he also sang vocals. In earlier years, he had been active with Louisville Actors Theater, loving the dramatics of acting.

Todd put his creative talents to use working as a floral designer for many years in Tennessee and in Louisville.

He was employed with CitiBank for many years as a service representative and collector, until his health began to take its toll on him and eventually took a medical retirement. At this time, he revisited his passion for art and began painting which he continued until the time of his death. 

Todd is survived by brother, Bill (Sharron) Morgan of Louisville; sisters, Sandy Weatherford of Oak Ridge, TN, Pam Dowdle of Clarksville, IN, and  Linda (Rodger) Lofton, of Paducah, KY ; Sister-in-law Mary Arthur Morgan; Nieces and Nephews, Doug (Chris) Hammond, Ehrin Dowdle, Chad (Jessica) Weatherford, Erik (Julie) Weatherford, Terri (Tony ) Kolter, Mike (Patty) Morgan, Jacqueline (Rick) Harrell, and Jennifer Morgan. He has several great nieces and nephews and great-greats!

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, August 21st, from 11:00am – 1:30pm, with a celebration of life service following, at 1:30pm, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville KY, 40243. Burial will take place at Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Ave, Louisville, KY 40204, at 3:00pm, following the Celebration of life.
