Cheryl Ann (Wallace) Fagundo, 63, passed away suddenly on January 27, 2026. She was born on December 7, 1962, to Regena Waits-Zoumis and Billie Wallace. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Billie Wallace. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Fagundo; her mother, Regena Waits-Zoumis; her sons, Timothy (Desiree) Hardin and Kyle (Heather) Emery; and her cherished grandchildren, Timothy (Hannah) Hardin Jr., Zackarie Hardin, Paizley Burns, Tatum Schaefer, Sydney Detwiler, Ellie Emery, Eli Emery, and Chance Emery. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Emma-Jean Burns and Cooper Schaefer. Cheryl is further survived by her four brothers—Lee (Missi) Wallace, Kevin Wallace, Mark Wallace, and Larry Wallace—along with many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Cheryl was a gifted nurse, Director of Nursing, animal advocate, mentor, and leader who lifted others up wherever she went. In her professional life, she upheld an exceptional standard of care, mentoring countless nurses, advocating fiercely for her patients, and clearing paths for others to grow and lead. Her compassion extended far beyond healthcare. Cheryl was deeply committed to animal rescue, leading rescue efforts and advocacy groups, championing spay-and-neuter clinics, and rehoming countless animals while helping save the lives of many more. She loved her family without measure and showed that same unwavering compassion to animals and to anyone in need. A fierce advocate for the voiceless, Cheryl lived her life with a heart full of pure love, empathy, and generosity.
Her passing was sudden and heartbreaking, and the void she leaves behind is immense. Still, her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the careers she shaped, the animals she saved, and the example she set every single day. The world is better because Cheryl was in it, and she will be deeply missed.
