Cheryl Denise Denning passed away on March 1, 2018. She was the youngest child of the late Charles and Margaret (Todd) Denning. Cheryl was born on July 26, 1954.
She graduated from Eastern High School in 1973. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Denning, Sr., mother Margaret (Todd) Denning, grandniece Leighanne Owens, nephews; Kenneth (Kenny) Johnson and William Clay III (Lil Clay).
She loved her family, especially her son Tyrone (Roney) and had a great love for Denise, her granddaughter and namesake. Denise was her Me-Me's pride and joy. She enjoyed spending time with all of her friends, especially Cynthia, Denise, Lana, Estelle and Jan. Cheryl had a unique relationship with her son's father, Marvin (PeeWee) Nolan. They were best friends for 45 years. She worked at Fresh Market as Head Baker for the last 17 years and enjoyed her co-workers.
Cheryl leaves to cherish her memories, her son Tyrone Denning (Roney), granddaughter Denise Gayle Jones, siblings Rosa Ann Johnson, Marsha Clay (William), Charles Denning, Jr., James White (Jennifer), Carol Lumpkins and Cecilia Franklin. She also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews and a special niece, Carmelita Machalla Clay who she affectionately called "Niecey". Cheryl thought of Machelle as a mentor, advisor and a good friend. Also aunts, Margaret Ann Hall (Falmouth, MA), Teena Posley, Sherry Todd and uncle, William (Billy) Denning.
She was a hard worker and took pride in her work. Cheryl was funny, loud and a nut at times. She had no filter and would say and ask you anything that was on her mind. She did not care if it was politically correct or not. Cheryl loved her wine, enjoyed her tastings, and enjoyed a good time.
