Cheryl Ann(Powell) Minton

Cheryl Ann (Powell) Minton, 58, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015. She had many hobbies and interests that included sewing, crafts, working out in the yard, and home remodeling. Cheryl more than anything loved spending time with her family and being Mamaw to her grandkids.

She was born on August 11, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan to Carol (Walkowski) Rowe and the late Cecil Powell. Along with her mother, Cheryl is survived by her husband of 42 years, Stan Minton; sons, Brent Minton (Brittany), Brandon Minton (Kelsey); siblings, Tammy Powell, Lisa McGuire, Debbie Gatton (Vernon), Greg Powell (Donna); grandchildren, Sadie, Shelbie, Eric, Jayden, and Josie.

A reception of family and friends will be from 4 to 6 on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a Memorial Service taking place at 6 PM. Cremation was chosen following Cheryl's wishes.

The family requests contributions in Cheryl's memory be made to the Salvation Army (2300 Green Valley Road, New Albany, IN 47150).
