Charlotte Ann (Grant) Hearn

Charlotte Ann (Grant) Hearn, 85, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Before her illness she was a faithful member, Sunday school teacher, missions treasurer, and choir member of Second Baptist Church. She was a retired nurse and very passionate about nursing and taking care of others. Charlotte loved spending time with her family and planning family picnics and holidays together. Her hobbies were cooking, reading, crocheting, bowling, gardening, and working word puzzles.

She was born on February 28, 1933, in New Albany to the late Fredrick, Sr., and Gladys (Woodson) Grant. Charlotte was also preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Hearn; children, Pamela Ray-Rice and Robert Ray; and siblings, Fredrick, Jr., James, Marvin, and Freida Grant, and Anna Paris.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Richard Evans, Michael Ray (Maudie), Sheila Dockery, Stephanie Flores, Kimberly Hearn, and Monica Sutton (Mark); brother, John Grant (Vickie); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Tuesday after 11:00 a.m. Her Going-Home Celebration will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at West Haven Cemetery.
