Charlotte Ann "Charlie" (Brown) Douglas was brought into the world in New Albany, Indiana, and left this earth there on Monday, November 26, 2018. In between, she led a more than complete life. She became and remained a life-long member of the Screen Actors Guild during a stint in Los Angeles, where her greatest accomplishment was bringing her daughter, Heather, into the world. Heather continues Charlie's legacy as an accomplished performer, bringing Charlie an overabundance of well-deserved pride.
No words can quantify how much Heather cherished her "Mummy," nor can they describe the love her partner, Tom Luce, had for her for over 30 years and will continue to have for the remainder of his days. Also left to know how much Charlie enriched their lives with her truly selfless, giving, and beautiful spirit are Heather's partner, Jason Pethers; her dear sister, Shirley Miller; nephews, Brad and Zach Miller; cousins, Keith and Diane Reccius; as well as the hundreds of young actors who were privileged to have Charlie as their mentor in her capacity as Drama Director and teacher for over 30 years at Presentation Academy and other institutes of learning.
Charlie's infectious childlike enthusiasm and positivity will be sorely missed, but we will hold that spirit near and dear to our hearts always. "When you wish upon a star …"
Cremation was chosen, and a reception of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 11:00 a.m. Her Memorial Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
