New Albany

Charles Bryant Woolums Jr. passed away, after a brief decline, at Baptist Hospital East on Friday, June 20,2025 . Originally a native of Frankfort, KY. and then Louisville, KY . He was son of Charles and Josephine Woolums of Frankfort, KY. Charles was a Korean War Veteran and a Marine. He retired as mechanic for Greyhound Bus Lines, member of Melbourne Heights Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky.. He had a fun-loving zest for life, outgoing and enjoyed all kinds social activities especially if it involved playing cards (especially poker), bingo, horseshoes, darts. He was a talented handyman and builder during his retirement years. Loved to travel,he often would say he was 'born to ride'. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Wilson Woolums; brothers, William and Everett Woolums; and sister, Virginia Woolums Douglas.

Charles is survived by son, Glen D. Woolums; sister-in-law, Ella Troxell; nieces, Linda Woolums Demaree (Chris), Jacquelyn Wilson McKinney (Rod); and nephews, Mike, Don,and Larry Wilson. 

The family is grateful for the abundant loving care given by the staff of the Altenheim Senior Living,Louisville, neighbors Joyce and Charlie Wooldrige,and Sheila Hampton.

Graveside services will be 12pm on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort, Kentucky.
