Charles Lee "Chuck" Watson, Sr., age 71 of Louisville, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, having served in the Vietnam War. Chuck was a truck driver (handle Water Boy) and then a warehouse supervisor for Frito Lay. He was a member of Holy Name Parish where he coached 5th and 6th grade basketball. He also coached for Special Olympics, and volunteered for many programs at St. Mary's Center. He was an avid golfer and belonged to Nevel Meade Golf Club where he enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends. Chuck was also a league bowler, most recently at Blackiston Mill Lanes. He was a lifetime UofK Wildcat fan. He enjoyed driving his blue Corvette with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles William Watson and Anna Beatrice Wright Reidley.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sandy Lee Watson; children, Laura Timpe (Pat), Chuck Watson, II (Denna) and LaTanya Watson; grandchildren, Sarah Timpe, Charli Weihe (Michael), Charles Watson, III "Tre'" and Eli Watson; siblings, Beverly Tillman (A.C.), Patty Riggs, Richard Watson (Jenny) and Bobby Gay (Joyce); brother and sister-in-laws, Joe Lee, Tony Lee (Denise), Sherry Ernst (Bob) and Peggy Ray; godmother, Sr. Regina; uncles, Ernie Wright and Paul Wright; his 4 legged friend, Shane; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, and from 9am-11am on Friday, August 10th at St. Mary Center Chapel, 14207 Aiken Rd, Louisville, KY 40245. A celebration of Chuck's life will be held St. Mary's Center Chapel at 11am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
