Charles Walter Bucher

March 6, 1932 — January 11, 2016

Charles Walter Bucher, age 83 of Louisville, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016. Charles was born in Cairo, Illinois on March 6, 1932. He retired from the Federal Government, where he was an investigator with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He was very active in Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Arkansas and maintained close relationships with two of the children, now grown. Charles' hobby was woodworking. He especially enjoyed making wooden gifts for families and friends at Christmas. He also gave generously of his time assisting Latino families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilhelm and Edna Walter Bucher; brother, Bill; and his sister, Jane.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Ann Hayden Bucher; sisters, Ann Hennessey and Bettye Bucher; one niece, five nephews and their families, several cousins and nieces and nephews of his wife.

Visitation will be 3-7pm Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. Mass of celebration will be 10am Friday, January 15th at the Church of the Epiphany, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road, Louisville, KY.

Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, 248 East Market Street, Louisville, KY. 40202.
