Charles Eugene Thomas Iii

Charles "Chuck" Eugene Thomas, III., 24, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Charles was born on March 6, 1997 in Gainesville (Alachua County), Florida, only child to the parents of Shelia White Thomas and Charles Thomas, Jr. He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents Felix White, Sr. and Evelyn White, and Paternal Grandfather, Charles Thomas, Sr. Charles accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Stephen Church in Louisville, Kentucky, where he is a current member. Charles graduated from Walden School in 2015. He went on to graduate from Spalding University in 2020 with his Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies.
Charles took great interest in serving his immediate community while attending Spalding University. He graciously served as Treasurer of Spalding University Black Student Association, assisting with fundraisers and conducting community outreach projects centered on homelessness and Food Pantries.

Charles worked at United Parcel Service (UPS). His extended love for the community and his unique Autistic/Artistic abilities permitted him to gain increased aspirations in creative writing. He wrote a collection of poems idealized through spoken word, leading to paid commissioned work projected to be published in Comic Books and Graphic Novels. He recently signed a book deal, which is incomplete. He had a love for Anime, music and UK. He was awaiting a response from an organization to work with underprivileged children and/or those with learning disabilities.

Charles had an infectious personality developing relationships in times of comfort. His love for basketball lead to numerous friendships in high school and college. His friends would describe him as a person that is "Larger than Life." He had a great sense of humor and solid connections with select Family, Mentors, Family Friends, Teammates, and Classmates.

Charles is survived by his parents, Shelia (Ronald Phillips) White Thomas and Charles (Sakina) Thomas; The only Biological Grandchild to his Paternal Grandmother Pamela Thomas; Uncles Felix White, Jr., Cedric (Chinita) White, and Christopher White; Aunts Christy (Kenneth) McCroy and Latina White; a host of Great Uncles, Great Aunts, and Cousins. He will be equally missed by Drew and Desiree Harned, Maggie, Anna, and Lilly Harned; Co-Parents Monica Lipman and Toree Mason.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243 and also on Saturday, February 26th from 9 to 10 am at St. Stephen Church 1018 S 15th St, Louisville, KY 40210. A celebration of Charles' life will follow at the church at 10 am Saturday.
