Charles Winfield Spahn

May 2, 1940 — June 3, 2017

Charles Winfield Spahn, 77, of Louisville, Kentucky entered into eternal rest on June 3, 2017, after a fierce battle with Alzheimer's disease and Lewy Body Dementia.
Charley was the son of Edward and Lillian (Urich) Spahn, who preceded him in death. He was a 1958 graduate of St. Xavier High School and a 1962 graduate of Bellarmine University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1968. Charley loved automobiles, racing them and focusing his career on serving in the automotive industry for over 30 years. He was a member of the Sports Car Club of America for over 25 years.
Charley is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Joan (Eyl) Spahn; three children Amy (Bob) Ptacek of Centerville, OH; Christopher Spahn of Springfield, PA; Jennifer (Jon) Lostutter of St. Jacob, IL; as well as 2 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild. He is also survived by his sister Jo Ann (Tom) Neman of Beverly Hills, MI.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Mass will held at 10:00am on Friday, June 9, 2017 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (7813 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40222) with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
