Charles "Charlie" Seng, III

Charles "Charlie" Seng III, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully with family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, May 22, 2025. He was 68 years old and a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and the best Pappy.

Born on November 14, 1956, with a big heart and that ever-present smile, Charlie was known for his warm spirit, quick wit, and endless generosity. He had a special way of bringing people together, filling any room with laughter and providing comfort to anyone in need. Whether he was cracking a joke, sharing stories, giving hugs, or lending a hand, he dedicated his life to helping others. He served in the U.S. Army, was a hardworking crane operator, and a devoted family man.

He was rooted in his Catholic faith and his family. He also enjoyed hunting with his brother, solving Sudoku puzzles, watching game shows, playing card games, staying active in the men's club at St. John Paul II, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Charlie is survived by Joyce "Jodie" Seng, his loving wife of almost 40 years; his daughter, Cassandra Seng (Sean), and son, Timothy Seng (Carol); his sisters Mary Pat Butler, Denise Burden (Roscoe), and Alyssa Morris (Glen); and his brother Philip Seng (Kristy); his grandchildren Emery, Seyah, Chyler, Harold, Shayla, Kaydon, and Deagan, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dearest friends who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Seng Jr., and his mother, Alvina Seng (Renn).

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at St. John Paul II from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the men's club at St. John Paul II in Charlie's memory. He will then be laid to rest on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 10 a.m. at New Albany National Cemetery on Ekin Avenue in New Albany, IN, where he will be honored for his selfless service in the United States Army.

Charlie will be remembered for his kind heart, helping hands, and deep love for all who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories we tell, the jokes we share, and the love we pass forward.
