Charles Frederick “Skip” Schrader, 81, of Louisville, KY, died on December 20, 2025 with his beloved wife of 63 years and their daughter at his side.
Skip was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 19, 1944 to Herbert and Lucille Schrader. He graduated from Butler High School and went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Linda Schrader (Robinson) in 1962. Two years later they welcomed their daughter Tammy into the world. Skip retired from UPS after 25 years of service which gave him more time to pursue his hobbies, of which there were many!
He was an avid collector of watches, guitars, chess sets, and knives and he loved to play chess, shoot pool, play cards, talk politics, and ride his bike. He enjoyed good food and good music, and doted on many beloved pets over the years including cats, dogs, and even fancy goldfish.
Most of all, though, Skip will be remembered for how much he cherished his family; it always came before anything else. All who were loved by him knew just how much, because he told them every chance he got. He is survived by his loving wife Linda Schrader, his beloved daughter Tammy Hamilton (Dee), two grandchildren, Jennifer Meredith (Kyle) and Matthew Allen (Brittany), bonus grandson Dillan Hamilton, half-sister Linda Trautwein (Geary) and four great-grandchildren, Connor & Cole Allen, Lennox Hamilton, and Tristan Meredith.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville, Kentucky.
