Charles “Chuck” Scholl, owner & operator of Wood Brothers Jewelers, passed away May 15th with Marsha laying at his side. He was born on March 1st, 1941, to John and Allyne "Bower" Scholl in Memphis, Indiana.
Chuck loved his craft of jewelry making. It wasn’t about the money for Chuck. It was the joy he got from creating one of a kind, unique pieces, showcasing his amazing talent. He spent two years serving his country in the United States Army. In 2022 he received the Indiana Salute to Veterans Distinguished Veteran Award. Over the years Chuck enjoyed hunting with his buddies as well as fishing. He and Marsha spent many weekends fishing with their friends on Patoka Lake.
Chuck never met a stranger. He was definitely “one of a kind”, a loyal friend, a devoted partner, an ultimate jokester and a truly kind and caring human being, loved by all who had the privilege of being a part of his life.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Charles Scholl, mother, Cordie Allyne Scholl, brothers, Norman, David, Carl, Kenney and Martin Scholl, sisters, Eva Demoss, Emma Belle Scholl, Mary Montgomery, Dorothea Park, and step-sister, Mary Irene.
He is survived by Marsha Haworth Benson, their love spanning almost forty-nine years; his son, Charles “Chico” Scholl; granddaughter Cheryl (Cory) Adams; grandchildren Emmaline & Marshall Adams; and a special niece who was like a daughter to him, Debra Hoskins, whose love and care helped Marsha throughout this most difficult journey.
He is also survived by his sisters, Lois (Bennett) Bryant, Betty Williams, brothers, Frank (Vicki) Scholl, Art (Marlene) Scholl, Jim (Katherine) Scholl, Richard (Sherry) Scholl, sisters-In-law, Carol and Kay Scholl, step brothers, John Ethan, Warren Earl, and Arthur Patrick, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
