Charles L. Pettit, 87, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on December 7, 2016. He retired from General Electric and was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Charles was born on March 13, 1929, in Bath County, Kentucky to the late Harlan William Pettit and Ollie Vanlandingham Pettit Parker. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Archie Wendell Pettit, Mary Katherine Pettit Jones, William Harlan Pettit ("Billy"), and William Cleff Parker ("WC").

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley Pettit; nieces and nephews, Debi Trent (Bobby) and their daughter, Kelli Trent, Wendell Jones (Freda) and their son, Jason Jones (Cassie), Tom Jones (Rick), Donald Dixon (Melody), Cathy Whalen (Victor), and John Dixon (Janice).


Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243.) A funeral service to honor the life of Charles, will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Middletown Historic Cemetery.
