Charles L. Bratcher, also known as "Buddy", "Scratch", "Charlie", and "Pap", 80, passed away on July 15, 2025 Taylorsville, Kentucky.
Born on July 17, 1944 in Caneyville, Kentucky, Charles lived a life filled with the utmost love and dedication to his family that will be etched in their hearts for a life time! Charles was a dedicated employee at Philip Morris for over 35 years. He is survived by his son, Greg Olges; his wife, Alice Olges; his daughters, Lisa Hoagland; her husband Jim Hoagland; Kristie Fithian; her husband Jason Fithian; son in law, Roger Baker; sister Georgia C. Woosley. Charles spent his life caring deeply for his 10 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jolene "Jody" Bratcher; his father, Charley Anthony Bratcher, who was killed in World War II, he never met and couldn't wait to see him in Heaven! His mother, Ruby Mae Pierce; and his daughter, Gina Baker.
A memorial gathering to honor Charles incredible life will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville Chapel, located at 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky, 40243. His burial ceremony will be at 11:00 am Central Time and 12:00 pm Eastern Time on August 9th at Cloverport Cemetery, located on Brandenburg Street in Cloverport, Kentucky. Eulogy by Pastor Jeff Duke.
