Charles known to some as "Red" is 75 years old, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly after a medical emergency on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 8:30 PM. Charles gave his life to Christ at NewBirth Ministry Center in 2007. He was an active member of the Men Ministry "The Watchmen" and the AV Team (this was his happy place). Charles is a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Army and earning several service medals and citations. Retiree from GE Appliance Park after 35 years. Graduated from Central High School, class of 1965. He grew up in a nearby neighborhood here in Louisville, Kentucky on Burnett Ave. He Loves sharing that he is the second oldest of 16 siblings (and he would then proceed to name them all)!
He was a very encouraging, humble, and loving man to his family, friends, and to anyone he met. Always, always had an encouraging word to share, but you had to listen to a story first!
He was born on September 20, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky to Andrew and Sue (Lloyd) Jones. He is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Jones, Sr., mother, Sue F. Jones; siblings, Andrew Jones, Michael Jones, Jane Ladnier, and Wanda Perkins; His Be-Loved grandparents , Julia "DUWAH" and James Reed.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Evelyn Joyce Jones; children, Tamara J. (Carlos) Jones and Kenya R. Jones; siblings, Ronald Briscoe, Tyrone Briscoe, Leroy (Terri) Briscoe, Donald (Monica) Briscoe, David Briscoe, Victor Briscoe, Tilford (Tammie) Briscoe, Jay Ozier, Jeannette Conner, Rochelle (Gregory) Turner, and Linda (Tye) Thomas; aunt, Janice Reed; His Four legged Furry Companion Bibby. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends to cherish his fun loving memory forever.
Visitation will be from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at NewBirth Ministry Center, (3301 Linda Ln. Louisville, KY 40211). His Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, at NewBirth Ministry Center.
