Charles Edwin Heusel, Sr., 89, of La Grange, Kentucky passed away on October 18, 2016.
He attended Male High School, retired from American Builders and was employed by Kroehler Manufacturing for 19 years. He was also President of Local 551 International Wood Workers of America Union. Charles helped organize the first sanctioned United States Slowpitch Softball Association. He proudly served his country as a 3rd Division Combat Engineer in the United States Army during WWII. Charles was born on January 1, 1927, Louisville, Kentucky to the late Herbert and Beulah (Polston) Heusel.

Charles is survived by his wife of 66 years, Velma Joe Heusel, daughters, Patricia (Harold) Loyall, Sandra (Jerry) Schoenlaub, Pamela (Charlie) Grimes, son, Charles (Blanca) Heusel, Jr., Michael (Robin) Heusel, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services are private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Robley Rex V.A. Medical Center and the American Cancer Society.
