Charles Herbert Griffin

July 18, 1930 — December 19, 2016

Charles Herbert "Chick" Griffin, 86, of Greenville, Indiana, passed away on December 19, 2016. He was a hard worker and retired from the Railroad Company after 32 years of service and was a United States Army veteran who served in The Korean War. Chick was a member at Park Christian Church in New Albany, Indiana and proud long time member of the Hadi Shriners Club. He enjoyed doing fundraisers for the children and singing.

Chick was born on July 18, 1930, in Charlestown, Indiana, to William and Collie (Wilham) Griffin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Caroline (Saunders) Griffin; children; Erin Curtis (Al), Cynthia Wright (Wayne), Kimberley Leatherman (Jeff), Kelly Knop (Jeffrey), Scott Griffin (Stacey), Patrick Griffin (Angela); siblings, Phillip R. Griffin, Dolores J. Henley (Louis), Sharon R. Griffin; 12 grandchilden, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150) from 4 to 8 PM. His Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday with visitation before from 9-11 at Newcomer Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to The American Heart Association (15120 Collections Center Drive, Lock Box #15120, Chicago, IL 60693).
