Charles Franklin "Dusty" Downs, age 92 of Taylorsville, Kentucky, the Legend Baseball Hindcatcher and the Black Legend of Baseball in Spencer County, went home to rest on Monday, May 25, 2020 at 2:10 pm. He was born October 7, 1927 to the late Terry and Alice Young Mason. His saying was "I'm like money...everybody loves me!" Dusty worked with J.A. Bennett for many years as a young man with only an 8th grade education. He later worked for Transfer Line, Ryan Industries in Louisville for many years, and Buntons and Cosmidine before retiring. He will truly be missed by family and friends alike. He was preceded in death by 11 siblings and his grandson, Demarcus.

Charles is survived by his loving children, thoroughbreds and Charlie's Angels, Charles E. Downs (Diane), Cheryl Downs, Julia Grundy (Roger), Bruce Downs and Nevin Downs; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville, Kentucky.
