Charles "David" Patterson

February 15, 1958 — October 14, 2024

Louisville

Charles "David" Patterson, a cherished soul and steadfast figure in the hearts of those who knew him, departed this life on October 14, 2024, in his beloved Louisville, KY, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 15, 1958, David graced his world with a gentle spirit, an unwavering dedication to his craft, and an affinity for nurturing both plants and relationships.

A proud graduate of Ballard High School, David carved out a fulfilling career as a self-employed landscaper, where his love of nature and eye for beauty transformed many environs into verdant sanctuaries. His passions extended beyond the confines of landscaping; he delighted in the latest technology, immersing himself in watching TiKTok and livestreams, always eager to remain connected to the world around him. A true connoisseur of life, David found joy in spending time with family and friends, embodying the role of a devoted husband, loving father, caring brother, and loyal friend within his expansive circle.

Among his proudest accomplishments, David held dear his service in the United States Army, where he proudly enlisted and served, notably during the tumultuous times of Desert Storm. This noble chapter of his life not only defined his character but also set a powerful example of bravery and commitment for his children and grandchildren. He took great delight in his family, cherishing every moment spent with his daughter Andrea Micole Patterson, son Jermaine Patterson, and his grandsons De Anthony Bonner and Anthony Patterson. They were his pride and joy, and he visited each milestone with heartfelt enthusiasm.

David's steadfast commitment extended beyond immediate family to his cherished siblings: brothers Allen Patterson, Juan Patterson (Tish), Andrea Patterson (Shirley), Shawn Patterson, Louis Patterson, and Chester Patterson (Tina), along with his sisters Sharon Oliver, Jackie Northington, Rhonda McWhorter (Michael), Lisa Medina (Tony), Carmen Patterson, Annette Papps (James), Felicia Patterson, and Merita Patterson. Through laughter and tears, they shared bonds of love that will forever resonate in their hearts.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cheryl Denise Patterson, whose memory continues to illuminate the lives of those she touched. David is also reunited with his father Eugene Patterson Jr/, mother Anna Louise Patterson, and brother Lyman Eugene Patterson. Their legacies, intertwined with David's, will live on through the stories shared and the love passed down to future generations.

The legacy of Charles "David" Patterson stands as a testament to a life well-lived—a life celebrated quietly yet profoundly in the myriad ways he touched others' lives.
