He was born on July 1, 1969 in Louisville, Kentucky to James "Tony" and Mary (Brown) Coates. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary "Mickey" Margaret Coates.
He was a 1988 graduate of DeSales High School.
Charlie is survived by his father, James "Tony" Coates (Rosemary) and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Burial will be private at Calvary Cemetery (1600 Newburg Rd, Louisville, KY 40205).
