Charles Randy Cissell

Charles "Randy" Cissell, 61, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on January 10, 2017. He was an employee at the University of Louisville for over 30 years where he served as an executive video producer. Randy's passion was shooting, editing, and producing video. He loved having the ability to capture life and be able to see the fruits from his labor. Randy also possessed a love for music and was an avid guitar collector. He had a love for all sports, from coaching his children to dominating in his fantasy football leagues. At his core, Randy was a generous man that would do anything for his family and adored his grandkids.

He was born on December 8, 1955, in Scottsburg, Indiana. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. and Margaret "Dixie" Cissell.

Randy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary (Schmidt) Cissell; children, Leah Kelly (Brendan) and David Cissell; step-mother, Lola Cissell; siblings, Janet James (John), Janice Isaacs (David), Kipp Downing (Sue), and Kevin Downing (Beth); brother- and sister-in-law, Mike and Denise Hagan; grandchildren, Clare and Luke; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 15, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany) with cremation to follow according to Randy's wishes. He will be laid to rest privately at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
