Charles Ray Brown

Charles Ray "Charlie" Brown, 22, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. Charlie was a member of the New Beginnings Church in New Albany and an avid video gamer and loved working on electronics. He never met a stranger and loved making people laugh and lending a hand to help anyone in need.

He was born on July 9, 1998, in New Albany, Indiana, to Michael Wheeler and Kathy (Durbin) Johnson. Charlie is preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Durbin, Sr.

Along with his parents, Charlie is survived by his stepfather, Leon Johnson; siblings, Ashley Shepard, Quintin Brown, Jr., Treshawn Pryor, Gabriel Wheeler, and George Wheeler; grandparents, Alice Durbin, Deborah Wilkerson, and Fallis Wilkerson, Jr.; aunts and uncles, Carl (Lucretia) Durbin, Robbie Asher, Terry Durbin, Charles (Andrea) Durbin, Jr., Christopher (Jessica) Durbin, and Robin (Shannon) Ries; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2020, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Charlie's memory be made to Tracy Patton Ministries.
