Charles “Chuck” Blevins, III, age 73, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
Born on April 10, 1953, Charles lived a life marked with meaningful relationships, hard work, and memorable moments shared with loved ones.
Chuck worked for many years at Corhart Refractories. Outside of his professional life, Chuck was an avid NASCAR fan, passionate about following the sport and sharing that enthusiasm with those close to him.
Family was at the center of Chuck’s world. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sheila (Hash) Blevins. He leaves behind his daughters, Tonya Blevins and Jennifer Bognar (Chris), and his son, Charles Blevins IV, who cherish their countless memories.
As a grandfather, Chuck’s love multiplied with his grandchildren, Mikael Cash, Aaron Bognar (Hannah), Christopher Minton (Joelle), Richard Cash, Bryan Bognar, Brandon Minton, and Andrew Minton (Savannah). Chuck’s brother, John Blevins, as well as his brother-in-law, Todd Hash, survive him as well, continuing a lifetime of brotherly camaraderie.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Charles Blevins, Jr., his mother, Doris "Midge" (Kendall) Blevins, his brothers, Michael and Larry Blevins, and his sister, Pamela LaRue.
A man of varied interests, Chuck relished time spent with his family and delighted in occasional visits to try his luck at the slot machines. An animal lover at heart, he found great companionship with his pets: Tex, Thor, Rocky, Mouse, and Aggie, whose presence brought him joy and comfort.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and continue on Saturday morning after 9:00 a.m. Chuck's funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
