Charles Edward Bates, 89, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on March 1, 2017.
Charles was born on March 6, 1927, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Melvin Bates and Thelma Swenck Bates. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Bates; and brother, Ernest Melvin Bates, Jr.
Charles is survived by his siblings, Robert Bates, Norman Bates, Jack Bates and William Bates; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Kentucky Humane Society.
