Charles Albert Clark

January 1, 1922 — June 6, 2016

Charles Albert Clark, age 93, of Hannibal, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, June 6, 2016, which was also D-Day. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korea. He was a machinist by trade and a long-time member of Southside Christian / Clover Road Christian Church, where he was a church Elder Emeritus. Charles was known for his love of cats; he would have had a houseful if Martha would have let him. He was a tinkerer and could fix anything mechanical. He was a member of the NRA, enjoyed target-shooting, loved astronomy and was a voracious reader. He was an avid fan of fast-pitch softball and cheered enthusiastically for the New York Yankees and Louisville Cardinals. He enjoyed grand opera and loved all music but especially bluegrass, classical guitar and piano. Charles was a self-taught and learned man. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Martha Mae Clark whom he married on September 9, 1951 at Southside Christian Church in Hannibal, MO. She entered eternal life on October 28, 2009. He is also preceded by his parents, James David and Julia Andre Clark; his son-in-law, Frank Muse; and his siblings, Arry, Martha, George, James, Julia, Robert and Anna Louise.

Charles is lovingly survived by his daughters, Julia E. Clark, Baltimore, MD.; Sarah K. Muse, Whiteville, NC.; Rebecca R. Clark, Louisville, KY.; special nieces and nephews, Sherri Clark, David Clark, DeeDee Higgins and Ronald Leroy Smith; other great nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
