Charles A. Thomas

Charles A. Thomas, 87, passed away on May 16, 2015. He was born in Dunnville, KY and raised in Moreland, KY. He was a film editor for 30 years at WAVE TV and owner/operator of Bresler's Ice Cream in Jefferson Mall. He sang with the American Male Chorus as a young man and enjoyed singing and playing piano throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Allison and Grace Thomas; sisters, Faye Wright, Catherine Green and Ruth Lawson; brothers, Allison William (Billy) Thomas, Maurice Thomas.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Ruth (Peggy Dye) Thomas; children, Charles Robert (Piper) Thomas, Elizabeth Grace (Jonathan) Johnson and Serena Ruth Thomas; grandchildren, Sade Smith, Madeline Ruth Johnson, Dylan Thomas Johnson; great-grandchild, Sophie Lee Kendrick and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 23, 2015, from 11am-3pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) with a celebration of Charles' life beginning at 3pm.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hustonville Christian Church (113 College Street, Hustonville, KY 40437) or Bethany United Methodist Church (6100 Moorman Road, Louisville, KY 40272).
