Chance Carthan, age 11 months, of Louisville, KY passed away on November 23, 2013. Chance was born on December 27, 2012, in Iowa City, IA to Amber Carthan.
Chance was strong, he was a fighter. He smiled through his pain and will never be forgotten. He was loved and will always be loved by many family members and friends.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at the University of Iowa Hospital and also Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, KY for the care they provided Chance throughout his life.
Chance is survived by his mother, Amber Carthan; brother, Ka'Mauri Marshall; grandparents, Danita Dillard and Chauncey Carthan; aunt, Nikisha Carthan; Godparents, Courtney and Pastor Joshua Harris; uncles Mikhail Murphy and Chauncey Carthan Jr.; and great-grandparents, Margaret Dillard and E.D. Dillard.
