Celia Waldrop

November 10, 1936 — April 6, 2021

Celia "Ya Ya" Waldrop, 84, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. She was born on November 10, 1936 in Barcelona, Spain to Jaime and Pilar (Moran) Barrera. Celia was a Flamenco Spanish Dancer and Performer with her sister, Pilar, performing throughout Europe. She married her husband, Cyril, in Athens Greece in 1957. When she moved to the United States, she became a homemaker and housewife. Celia enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, bird watching, loved to do puzzles & color apps on her iPad. She was a loveable, caring, funny, but most of all one"Sassy" lady. Celia will be missed by all who knew her.

Celia is survived by her loving Son, Bob (Lori) Waldrop, Daughters, Maria (Alan) Dillander, and Debbie (Perry) Daugherty. Celia also leaves behind to cherish her memory 11 Grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren, and a host of Friends, and Extended Family.

She is preceded in death by her Husband, Cyril Waldrop, Parents, and Sister, Pilar Garcia.


Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the Newcomer, Cremations and Funerals- Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). Her Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Lebanon National Cemetery in Lebanon, Kentucky.
