Catherine M. (Curley) Welsh Pease

Catherine M. (Curley) Welsh Pease, 97, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020. She was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Kate dedicated her life to creating a strong and loving family. She leaves behind a legacy that will live on through her family forever.

She was born on May 11, 1923, in Louisville, Kentucky, to James and Mary (Carter) Curley. In addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her husbands, Gil Welsh and Jerry Pease; five brothers; and seven sisters.

Kate is survived by her daughters, Pat Byrnes (Regan), Mary Welsh Owen (Park), and Julie Cunningham (Bruce); son, Jerry Welsh (Becky); stepdaughters, Bobbie Hawkins, Jackie Rager, and Tina Pease; sisters, Susie Robards (Billy) and Mary Lee Daub; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews that were special to her.

A reception of family and friends will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church (129 W. Daisy Lane, New Albany) with burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Corydon, Indiana.
