Catherine (Smith) Nohalty
April 29, 1926 — February 26, 2016
Catherine (Smith) Nohalty, 89, was granted her Angel wings on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was born on April 29, 1926 in Vine Grove, Kentucky to the late Lillian Reesor Baker and George Riesor.
She was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church and a member of the Silver Sages, also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 220. Once she retired she enjoyed volunteering and planning trips for the Jeffersontown Community Center. Her biggest joy was her time spent with her great-granddaughter, Arianna.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Livers, granddaughter, Stephanie Livers and great-granddaughter Arianna Gummer. She is also survived by her sons; James Smith (Linda), Sonny Smith (Sherry), daughters; Viva Smith and Susan McGill (Bob), seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sons; David and Dale Smith.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Donna, Amanda and Diana and the entire staff at Providence Louisville East.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 4:00pm until the time of the memorial service at 6:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243).
Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Louisville.
