Catherine Elizabeth Lillpop, beloved mother, grandmother, and fr.iend, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on October 18, 1940, in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, she was raised in Mauckport, IN on a 400 plus acre farm, she was a cherished member of her community and a lifelong resident of the area Catherine graduated from Corydon Central High School in 1958, beginning a life dedicated to family, service, and enduring relationships.

Over the years, Catherine built an impressive career, initially working for Kentucky Central Life Insurance for two years. However, her most significant role was as a dedicated homemaker for 20 years, a role she embraced with love and passion. Catherine returned to the workforce and contributed her talents for over 20 years at Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Company, where her caring nature and work ethic shone brightly.

Catherine was an active member of the community, attending Baxter Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville, Sulphur Baptist Church, and Poplar Level Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and shared her love of music. She was known for her caring personality, serving as a mother and caregiver to many around her. Her relentless spirit and go-getter attitude inspired those with whom she interacted. She volunteered at Jams where she helped other families in need.

Among her proudest accomplishments was her passion for being of service to others, which was evident in the countless lives she touched. Catherine loved needlework, gardening, cooking and sewing, and she often shared her cherished recipes with loved ones, passing down memories that will endure for generations.

Catherine is survived by her son, Roy Lillpop, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Robin Lillpop. She adored her grandchildren, Dakota (Christina) Lillpop, along with her great-grandchildren, Kanon Underwood and Mila Lillpop, who brought her immense joy and pride. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Roy Lillpop, Sr., and her son, Troy Lillpop, as well as her parents, Alvin Leo Smith and Jeanette Elvira Grant Smith.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Catherine's life during visitation services on March 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on March 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY.
