Catherine Louise Estrin, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully departed this life on November 20, 2025, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on November 16, 1949, in Pontiac, Illinois, and lived a life imbued with love, intelligence, and a passion for teaching.

Catherine dedicated a significant part of her life to shaping young minds across the state of Illinois as a teacher. She graduated proudly from Hall High School before attending Illinois State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in education. Her commitment to sharing knowledge and nurturing the youth of her community was a testament to her kind and compassionate nature.

Catherine's warmth extended far beyond her classroom. She was known for her love of cooking and the joy it brought her to share meals with family and friends. Holidays and special events at her home were filled with laughter, delicious food, and a sense of belonging that made everyone feel welcomed. Her grandchildren, Esme and Ezra, were a constant source of pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, watching them grow and exploring the world through their curious eyes.

A lover of puzzles, games, and reading, Catherine found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her evenings often included lively games of Bingo and heartfelt conversations, reinforcing the bond she held dear with her closest friends and family. A loyal sister and aunt, she was a trusted confidante and a source of strength to those around her. Her relationship with her best friend, Trudi Wetzel, showcased the deep connections she fostered throughout her life.

Catherine is survived by her loving son, Aaron (Gina Oliver) Estrin, and her son, Joshua (Casandra) Estrin, who will carry forward the legacy of love and kindness she instilled in them. Her grandchildren, Esme and Ezra, will forever hold dear the memories of their grandmother’s hugs, her delicious cooking, and her unwavering support. Catherine also leaves behind her niece, Sunday Cissell; niece, Dolly Pierson; nephew, Joe Beltz; and brother-in-law, Frank Rogers.

She joins in eternal peace her father, Fred Hall; mother, Kathryn Hall; sister, Carol Rogers; and brother, Terry Hall, who will surely greet her with open arms. Catherine's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, dedication, and joyous moments that shaped the lives of many.
