Catherine Laverne (Chambers) Dailey

Catherine "Laverne" (Chambers) Dailey, 89, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. She was a retired Food Service Manager for Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville and a long-time and active member of Scottsville Christian Church. Laverne loved her family deeply. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking for the holidays, and feeding the birds.

She was born on February 3, 1932, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Joseph and Margaret (Hoops) Chambers. In addition to her parents, Laverne was preceded in death by her children, Catherine Sue Pate, Rose Dailey, and Jason Dailey.

Laverne is survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Matthews (Chris), Jaselyn Dailey, and Jordan Dailey; siblings, Joseph Chambers (Jan), Harry Chambers (Jan), and Elizabeth McCaslin; daughter-in-law, Tasha Dailey; extended family member, Charlene Whitmore; and family, David Henry, Shannon Beckham, and Mike Wolfe.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her funeral service taking place at 2:00 p.m. Private burial will follow at Galena Cemetery.
