Carolyn Whitaker

Whitaker, Carolyn, 60, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky passed away on March 13, 2016.

Carolyn was born on February 19, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Abel and Viola Snellen. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Patty Snellen, Terry Snellen, Danny Snellen and Michael Snellen.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lonnie Whitaker; children, Amanda Likens, Angela Vittitow, Holly Whitaker, Gary Whitaker (Tiffany), Cory Whitaker; grandchildren, Mason Likens, Austin Johnson, Hunter Likens, Brianna Johnson, Lily Vittitow, Layton Vittitow, Lillian Murphy, Layla Murphy, Ladonna Whitaker; siblings, Dewanye Snellen, Larry Snellen (Rae), Vickie Powers (Bobby), Charlie Snellen (Angie), Karen Miller (Jimmy), Jimmy Snellen (Nancy), Bonnie Hart (Kenny), Kim Hester (Corkey), Joyce Howerton (Steve); and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville). A funeral service to honor the life of Carolyn will be held Friday at 12 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville, Kentucky.

In loving memory of Carolyn, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
