Carolyn J. Shreve

March 22, 1934 — October 13, 2017

Carolyn J. Shreve, age 83, of Louisville, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at Forest Springs Health Campus. Born in Louisville, KY on March 22, 1934 to Maury and Viola (Borders) Wright, she graduated from Atherton High School in Louisville and later married Robert M. Shreve on October 9, 1954 at Buechel Presbyterian Church. She worked for Jefferson Country Board of Education and then Kentucky State Government, from where she retired. She was a former trustee at Brooklawn Child & Family Services. She was a member of Southeast Christian Church for 30 years, where she served in the New Member Ministry and other volunteer roles. She was preceded in death by her parents Maury William Wright and Viola Marie Wright, and her brother Donald Wright.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Brian Shreve (Lorraine) and Mark Shreve (Diane); former husband, Robert "Bob" Shreve; 6 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; and 13 great-grandchildren; brother, James Wright; sisters, Florence Shoemaker (Grad) and Marilyn Nall; 5 nephews and 9 nieces; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 12-1pm, followed by her Funeral Service at 1:00 pm, both on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Pkwy. Louisville KY 40243. Private burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Bob Russell Ministries, PO Box 43933, Louisville, KY 40253.
