Carolyn Frances Rice, age 73, of Lyndon passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2019 surrounded by her family and friends.

Born on October 8, 1946 to the late JL and Lena Reeder, she was a graduate of Watertown (TN) High School class of 1964. She retired after a long career with Jefferson County Public Schools as a teaching assistant at Lowe Elementary in Louisville where she had a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of children. She enjoyed traveling with her co-worker friends, watching sports and was always willing to help friends in need.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gary Rice; her children, Cindy Magruder (Toby), James Lee Rice, her beloved granddaughter Emelia; siblings Virginia Curtis (Tommy), Betty Swindell (Sam), Nancy Hayes, Fred Reeder (Edwina), Linda George and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers William (Billy) Reeder and Charles (Tommy) Reeder.

A memorial service for Carolyn will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Peewee Valley Presbyterian Church, 119 Central Ave, Pewee Valley, KY. Visitation will be from noon to 1 PM and after the service, when food will be served.

Rather than memorials of flowers, Carolyn's family requests donations to the National Kidney Foundation.
