Carolyn Murner

Carolyn Murner, 74, of Taylorsville, Kentucky passed away on June 29, 2018.

Carolyn was born on September 26, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Leslie Wheeler, Sr., and Irene (Quire) Embry. She was also preceded in death by siblings; Leslie Wheeler, Jr., Betsy Upton, Jonathon "Jock" Embry, Ronnie Embry and George Wheeler.

Carolyn was a fun loving Mother and Nana. She loved them unconditionally. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always the life of the party. She was a classy lady who was beautiful in appearance, but was not afraid to look silly if she could bring joy to someone else. Her laugh was contagious, her compassion for others inspiring. Her ability to stay young at heart is one of the many characteristics that will be missed the most. Carolyn's love for God and her relationship with Christ was known by all. And now she is at home with her heavenly father. Our loss but heavens gain. She will be deeply missed.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Tina Marie Duke (Kerry), son Troy Merrifield (Barbara), eight grandchildren; Tara Castrogiovanni, Tiffany Castrogiovanni, Tony Castrogiovanni, Kory Duke, Deveda Parker, Carrie Greer, Kerrisa Duke and Nina Davis, ten great-grandchildren; Kayla Castrogiovanni, Chase Parker, Zachary Parker, Kenna Parker, Joseph Greer, Jackie Greer, Wesley Cureton, Destinee Cureton, Alyssa Monroe, Isabella Duke and the soon arrival of baby Zane Michael Gibson.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243).

Her funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery (4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, KY 40218).
