Carolyn Ruth (Wright) Kays Lindsey

Carolyn Ruth (Wright) Kays Lindsey, 82, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. She retired from the Army Corps of Engineers in Louisville and was a member of Edwardsville United Methodist Church. Carolyn had many interests that included bowling, golf, snow skiing, and playing cards.

She was born on August 16, 1937, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the late Ralph and Kathleen (Hardin) Wright. Carolyn was also preceded in death by her husband, James Lindsey; son, Daniel Kays; daughter-in-law, Anita Kays; brothers, Leon and Mark Wright; and brother-in-law, Harry Summers.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Terri Kruer (Jeff), Sherri Lynn (Dwayne), and Kathy Dorsch (Bill); sister, Nancy Summers; and grandchildren, Colton Kays, Kelsey Kruer, Jacob Kruer, Dave Dorsch, and Lindsey Dorsch.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 10:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
