Carolyn Rose Hopfensperger

Carolyn Rose Hopfensperger, 82, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022. Carol was the shining example of a housewife and mother. She spent her time caring for her husband and children and was always involved in their sports and school functions. Carol instilled many of those loving qualities in her family. Carol loved spending time with her family and playing Bingo any chance she could get. She was a very loving and determined mother.

She was born on June 15, 1939, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Clarence and Ollean (Sherrard) Cooper. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, S. Carl "Hoppy" Hopfensperger; brother, Richard Cooper; and sister, Anna Plaskett.

Carol is survived by her children, Donna Bottom, Teresa (Gregory) Crawford, Steven Belcher, Mike Belcher, and Kenny (Lori) Belcher; sister, Violet Byrd; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
