Carolyn Lou Basham

Carolyn Lou Basham, 87, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021. Carolyn was a member of Ormsby Heights Baptist Church. She was an election poll worker for many years in the PRP area. Carolyn worked for the JCPS in the Nutrition Services in several schools, but her fondest memory was Valley High School. She loved her animals and spending time with friends and family.

She was born on April 5, 1933 in Louisville, Kentucky to Chester and Gracie (Fowler) VanVactor. She is preceded in death by her Parents, husband of 52 years, Alfred Basham, Sisters, Earlene, Pal, and Margaret, and Brother, Ervin.

Carolyn is survived by her Sons, Anthony (Theresa) Basham, Michael (Pam) Basham, Mark (Debbie) Basham, and Timothy (Ginger) Basham, Grandchildren, Alan, Matt, Crystal, Amie, Brittany, Shelby, Michael, Shelly, and Caleb. Carolyn also leaves behind to cherish her memory 16 Great Grandchildren, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Friends, Church Family, and Extend Family.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with Entombment to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
