Carole W. Carter, 79, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026. Carole was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Nanaw, sister, and friend. She had strong faith in the Lord and was a devout Catholic. Carole was a graduate of Valley High School, class of 1964. She devoted several years of service with Fireman's Fund Insurance Company and later retired from Alexander and Alexander Insurance Company. After retirement, Carole returned to work at Twin Lakes Hospital in Leitchfield, Kentucky. She cherished and often spoke about the good times spent with her lake friends in Nolin Lake Estates. Carole will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
She was born on July 21, 1946 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Richard and Mae (Pilkenton) Keabler. She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Keabler; mother, Mae Keabler; husband, Joe Bill Carter; brother, John Keabler; and beloved fur baby, Nibbles.
Carole is survived by her loving family, sons, Richard (Dawn) Beahl, Jeff (Jessica) Carter; brother, Richard Keabler; sister-in-law, Robin Keabler; grandchildren, Chris (Katie) Beahl, Lauren (Matt) Dutcheshen, Lynsey Beahl, Kelsey (Patrick) McWilliams, Nick Carter, Nicole Carter; great-granchildren, Noah Beahl, Liam Beahl, Charlotte Dutcheshen, Lexi Rose, Emma Westbrook, Maddy McWilliams, Gavin McWilliams, Kallie Jo McWilliams; nephew, John (Katie) Keabler, Jr.; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive. Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Louisville. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, Kentucky at 1:30 p.m.
The family requests that contributions in Carole’s memory be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
