Carole Lee (Stewart) Barton

Carole Lee (Stewart) Barton, 86, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2020. She was a dedicated wife and mother. Carole was a Christian by faith and also enjoyed traveling.

She was born on February 18, 1934, in Marengo, Indiana, to the late Arthur and Cledie (Key) Stewart. Carol was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Barton; and siblings, Robert Stewart, Isma Potter, Malcolm Stewart, Clifford Key, Barbara Browne, and Maxine and Dean Stewart.

Carole is survived by her sons, James B. Barton and Edward Barton; grandsons, Randal, Christopher, and Joshua Barton (Clarissa); eleven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Wilma Sikes, Maggie Stewart, Lloyd Stewart, and Betty Eastridge.

Services will be private, and Carole will be laid to rest beside her husband at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Contributions in her memory may be made to Marengo Christian Church (470 S. Cedar Street, Marengo, IN 47140).
