Carol Deniece (McNew) McCoy, 71, of Memphis, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025. A member of First Southern Baptist Church in Sellersburg, Carol's life was dedicated to service, both in her faith community and in her professional career as a teacher's aide within the Silver Creek School Corporation.
Born on October 14, 1953, in Corbin, Kentucky, she was the daughter of John and Charity (Keith) McNew. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ott Keith McNew.
Carol is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Robert McCoy. She leaves behind a legacy through her children: Robert John McCoy (Theresa), Stephanie Ritter (Mark), Matthew McCoy (Larissa), and Adam McCoy (Alicia), each of whom carries forward her spirit of compassion and strength. Carol was also a proud grandmother to Mark (Star), Jonathon, and Rebekah Ritter, Abagayle, Charity, Jacob, and Emmalyn McCoy, and she was blessed to have a great-granddaughter, Eliana Ritter. She is also survived by her siblings, Sue Robey, Carlene Stewart (Barry), Joe McNew (Cathy), and Rebecca Austin (Robert).
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany), and will continue on Saturday after 9:00 a.m. A service celebrating Carol's life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, with a burial to follow at Silver Creek Cemetery in Sellersburg.
