She was born on December 22, 1972 in Louisville, Kentucky to Naple Griffin and Carolyn Gaines. She is preceded in death by her Father, Nephews Lamartez Griffin and Ricky DuBose Jr.. Grandfather, Dawson Maddox Sr., Mother-In-Law, Esther Bellard, and Cousin John "Uncle Johnny" Holt.
Carol is survived by her Mother, Carolyn L. Gaines, Daughters, Aubre L. Young (Reginald Mayes), Danae R. Young, Spouse Abdoulaye Hann, Step-Daughter, Harriett Hann, Brothers Marcus Griffin, Paul J. Mullins, and Alex Shaw, Sisters Mona L. Flippins and Precious Stallings, Grandson, Cayden A. Mayes, Grandmother, Nanny Lou Maddox, Nephews Marcus Sublett, Rico Griffin, Gemari Griffin, and Jonathan Mullins, Nieces, Makia Flippins, Martina Griffin, and Jessica Mullins, Uncle, Dawson Maddox (Cassandra), Aunt, Nanny Rucker (Clarence), Cousins, Ayita Patrick (Gerthie), Aaron Maddox, Angelete Moreno (Raul), Adrian Maddox (Brenda), and Andrea Holt, Great Nephews, Markel Flippins and Joseph Davis, Great-Niece Malia Flippins, former Husband Breon Young, and a host of other family members and friends.
A private service to celebrate Carol's life will be held for immediate family members only at this time,.
