Carmelo was born on July 16, 1923, in Puerto Rico. He is preceded in death by his son, Carmelo Garcia Rojas, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita M. Garcia; children, Luis E. Garcia Rojas, Samuel Garcia Rojas (Paula), Nancy Roederer (Robert); and many loving grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4p.m. to 8p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, and will resume on Friday at 9a.m. until time of service. (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville). A funeral service to honor the life of Carmelo will be held Friday at 1p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery.
