Carla Rae Newton, 61, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 27, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Thelma French, and sisters, Charlotte Lee and Myra Strohl.
She is survived by her husband Joe, daughter Jessica, and cat Sophie Rae who all loved her so very much. She was loved dearly by her French family, especially her cousin Linda; all of the Newton family, whom she had grown so close with over the years; and the many friends she made from all different periods throughout her life.
Carla had a caring, patient, strong, and giving heart, and always made friends wherever she went. For many years, she worked as an executive assistant. After leaving work, she was able to care for her mother who lived with her until she passed away in 2012. Carla was also a member of St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church and loved to volunteer with their vacation bible school each summer. Her biggest role though, was being a wonderful wife to her husband and a loving and supportive mother and best friend to her daughter.
Carla will truly be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her family is comforted in knowing that she is now at peace surrounded by all of the people that she loved and lost that she missed so much, and that they will all be reunited again one day in heaven.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday, July 31st, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Louisville East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243). Her funeral Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church (1816 Rangeland Road, Louisville, KY 40219) on Monday, August 1st, 2016 at 10:00 am with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery (1600 Newburg Road Louisville, KY 40205).
